Music Wars is a multiplayer browser game where you create music playlists and compare them to other people while simulating a virtual music career. The key to success is adding songs to your playlist before they become popular. As your music career progresses your popularity and status go up—from garage band to the ultimate goal: MUSIC LEGEND.
How to play
1. Performing – Play at various venues and earning fans and money
2. Battle – Compete with other players comparing playlists earning fans and money
MUSIC
Imagine you are a band or musician trying to make it big. You’ve got to have a good selection of music and get out there! Play at as many venues as you can and battle as many people as possible.
To start the game you get to license 3 songs. You perform virtual shows and battle other players to earn fan and money. The more popular the songs are on your playlist the more points you can earn when performing. Once your band’s popularity grows you can add more songs to your setlist and choose better venues thus earning more points, fans, and money.
LICENSING MUSIC
In Music Wars you have to license music using in-game money and play the songs at virtual shows. The more popular a song is the more expensive it costs to license so license songs before they become too popular! The songs are ranked on the billboard and its numerical ranking appears before the band name. If you remove a song from your setlist you have to relicense it if you want to put it back on your setlist.
HEARTING SONGS
Hearting songs improves the song’s overall value.
You get 3 hearts for each song you have on your setlist.
Every day you get hearts to assign to the songs of your choice.
You can assign a maximum of 99 hearts to a song.
Hearts are worth more when a song is not on the billboard’s top 100
o 1 heart = 3 points for songs not in the top 100
o 1 heart = 2 points for songs in the top 100
o 1 heart = 1 point for songs in the top 40
Strategy: Heart songs before they rank on the billboard.
PERFORMING
The other objective in Music Wars is to go from “Basement Band” status to “Music Legend” status. You can do this by winning more fans at shows and battles. The more fans you earn the more your status increases. As your band’s status goes up you are able to perform at bigger and better venues. See SCORING section for more details
BATTLING
When you Battle you compare your music list with another person’s setlist. They can be versus friends or other players. The player with the higher total score wins. Battle score is calculated by adding the song’s score + hearts + user’s items. The winners gain more fans and cash prizes. See SCORING section for more details.
TIMERS – Stamina & Energy
There are 2 timers in the game.
